Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more efficient, passing our tests for cleaning and taking on a variety of floor types. Choose models that allow you to select between a variety of types, including self-emptying and clean stairs.
Many of the best models are compatible with smartphones. Look for an app that lets you save maps, create schedules and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combinations on the market. It makes use of lidar to navigate, create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and customize the S1's behaviour.
The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which comprises linoleum in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, as well as large rugs and a medium-pile. It was able to drive close to walls and even across raised thresholds without any problems. However, it had some difficulty traversing the stairs in one go. The S1 also did an excellent job cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on its flat side against the floor and lifting itself when it was near carpet or rugs.
The docking station of the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and fills its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated water prior to each mopping session. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water for deep cleaning. The S1's water tank holds enough water for about 12 cleaning sessions before needing to be cleaned, although it will differ based the amount you use the mop.
The S1 requires regular maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. It is necessary to regularly wash out the tank that has been contaminated to keep it from becoming blocked. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors frequently to avoid them from becoming clogged with dust or dirt. But, overall, the S1 is easy to maintain, especially compared to other combinations that require more hands-on maintenance.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robot vacuum and mop combo from Ecovacs is a great choice for cleaning needs. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8700Pa of suction and comes with a number of innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning to avoid obstructions and cleans furniture. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive. Rotating mop pads actually lift floors and scrub it instead of simply moving a pad across the surface. The mops are also cleaned and dried in the base station as required.
This robot combo is easy to setup and use, and has a clear interface that walks you through the procedure. It also comes with a hand-vacuum that can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot cannot reach. There are two water tanks that can be automatically emptied or filled. It also comes with a variety of useful settings for fine-tuning your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a good vacuum cleaner. It has a powerful suction that can effortlessly remove dust and debris that other robots struggle with. Its navigation abilities are also decent, but it can get stuck on small area mats and rugs at my home (which you can mitigate by defining virtual boundaries in the app). The mopping feature is pretty excellent, too, with a pair of spin mop heads that actually lift and scrub the floors, instead of just dragging the pad over it. The mops can be cleaned with heated water, and dried in the basestation whenever required. Mops can also be filled at the top of the station if they are required.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was released earlier this year. But their new flagship model has even more impressive features. It offers outstanding cleaning results and hands-free maintenance which makes it a strong contender on our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection, and an expanded side brush ensure a thorough, customized clean is completed.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up fine and large debris from both hard floors and carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest places of our tests with ease, avoiding pet hairs and other messes. The sweeping performance of the machine is enhanced by a sidebrush which automatically swings out in order to reach areas that are difficult to reach, and a mop pad that extends across baseboards.
Its navigation system is intelligent it can navigate tight spaces and climbing stairs without skipping a beat. best automatic vacuum is able to move from one room to the next without having to change direction. This is a great feature for large homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is less advanced than some competitors and leaves a large space over obstacles. This can result in missing spots.

This is particularly important for dust that builds up in corners, on shelves and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot designed specifically for this purpose. It is simple to connect to your home WiFI network and works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the company's more pricier S-series models, including the flagship Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It has a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but saves on price by eliminating mopping functions and using a lower-cost plastic body.

The Q5 was one of the few robots we tested to not have a problem with high-pile area rugs and carpets. However, it was able to not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles. This isn't a surprise, since it does NOT have AI-powered obstacle-avoidance features.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robot vacuum we've ever tested. It also has a unique mapping system that allows it to reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums can't. It also collects more dust in the bin, which means you don't need to empty it as frequently. Additionally, it has washable filters that further lower the expenses associated with using the device. The robot can recognize carpets, and increase suction if needed. The app also allows you to mark areas you want to stay clear of, which is a nice feature.
